Mish Mash Collabo

I worked on this a while back with my homegirl PandaAGoGo [link] . I never posted it because I was waiting for her to throw her Johnny Hancock on it but she never did brings a tear to my face. Oh well, its been long enough and I guess I can always update the image when she decides to do so.

Shes a buddy from my college days, one day we decided to do a collabo, but not a simple one. we came up with 6 random things to draw on a page and the other one colors it, so I draw one, she colors it. she draws one, I color it. it was fun and challenging considering I always feel like I may ruin another artist drawing with one of my crazy color-tangents... anyways, she drew this for me: :thumb359025725: / [link]

Basically all I did was start coloring, I didn't have any real plan, I just knew I wanted to make the cheese blue (blue cheese), and the flag yellow. I wanted her shirt to match the flag like a theme park kinda thing. and I wanted the bird to be a bluejay for some reason. Blue blue blue... everything else that's colored in there is off the cuff: her skin, hair, gun. the dragon was colored last, I was runnin outta simple ideas so I took that to the next level and did a little bit of pattern, which I normally don't do, so that was fun because there is a theme-park in my head, I craftily placed a theme park in the background without the detail to just imply its there, a little bit a setting ya know. but I wasn't sold yet. at the time, I was watching Summer Wars a lot, and really dug the whole red outline concept inside the gaming world - AND BAM! the red outline was born. I made there eyes a little red since they haven't blinked in a while and said fuckit - Red iris' would be cool too. it all just happened, no plans - so I say to you reading this far, don't always have a plan, loosen the fuck up, take a risk. without a doubt the hardest part was coloring her wings, the easy route would have been white angel wings or black raven wings, whatever - old and boring. plus the background is predominately white since there in the game-world so white wings would have been lame and a waste of my girl drawin them. so I took a chance, and didn't mind what came out of it... the last thing I did was the smoke. like I said I had no plans, but it was missin something, and I definitely wanted to reinforce them 'not blinking their eyes' so I added the foggy smoke. but I made it colorful because I saw an image online like that and was like 'cooooooooolll'. Bam! did that. theyre like a couple cheech and chongs walkin away from a fun day at the fair. just a couple of little buddies

anyways, the deal included me drawing an illo with the same six objects, so I came up with this :thumb358134666: / [link] . even though were both animation graduates you can see were nothing alike. plus I really wanted to start taking up the whole page with my drawings and get better with backgrounds/environments. so I did a little extra work. I sent it to her, she loved it, but I dunno if she colored it shes a busy girl so I don't blame her. but i'd hate for myself to find the time to color it and post it for yall before she does.
